Authors: Craig Fraser and Jon Kosmoski
Average review score:

Imagination peaker
This book is one of the best. It motivates a person to paint-paint-paint. This book has great tips, illustrations, directions and good common-sense.

Cheap Tricks for Cheap!!!
This is one of the best books of it's kind! I absolutely love this book! I've been a fan of Craig Fraser and Jon Kosmoski for years, and they(mostly Craig) have done a wonderful job compiling information and demonstrating various techniques in the field of automotive airbrushing. Though focused mainly on the automotive genre, these techniques can be used in any field of airbrushing!! Craig is one of a kind, and he has been a tremendous mentor to many, and a terrific teacher to "airheads" everywhere. For the price of the book, you will get priceless information! It's well written, informative, and loaded with the coolest tips and tricks!!!

Craig Fraser's Automotive Cheap Tricks & Special F/X
Excellent book! Well worth the money (all the pages are nice glossy paper). This book is extremely useful and comprehensive. The photos and layout are done well, with clear numbering and descriptions. An excellent book for the novice or pro. Another useful addition is the use of a materials list for complex and invovled projects. There are to many projects to list, but some of them include, a full-sized truck graphic layout, torn metal effects, chrome effects, and nebula demostrations. This book is one of the better automotive painting books around.

Beachbum Berry's Intoxica!

Get Your Tiki Party Going!
Just when my "grog log" was beginning to fall apart in curacao-stained tatters, the Beachbum comes out with the new edition. Intoxica is even BETTER than the first. Timeless recipes and unending fun await. For anyone who wishes to delve into the world of exotic drinks, this is the BEST book that I've come across. In no time at all you will be mixing the most amazing and tasty concoctions in your own kitchen. You will never order a tropical drink at a bar again. Get This Book!

Intoxica is the perfect name!
More great tiki drink recipes from Beachbum Berry and a great follow up to his previous book. A must buy if you want to wow your friends and your next party.

Intoxica! & companion book Grog Log
These two volumes will make you never want to order a high priced, poorly mixed, tropical drink from the bar again!! I highly recommend these books to anyone who wants to have a cocktail from an era when making a drink was an art form. Why I say, "Buy both of these books!!" -

1. Vintage tropical drinks from the 1930's to 1970's featuring Don the Beachcomber.
2. Has easy to follow receipes, a strenghth scale so you dont get too tipsy, & a handy conversion table that makes measuring so simple.
3.W/ just a few ingredients, you can make a variety of drinks, so you don't need to spend your whole paycheck getting started.
4.Calls for fresh fruit juice...squeezing your own lemons & limes is fun & good excerise :) Seriously...fresh juice makes the difference!!
5.I had Mai Tais while I was in the Hawaiian islands. Actually, I had one at every bar & hotel I stopped at ;) hee hee, but NONE compared to the two vintage receipes found in these logs.

Kudos to the cool cats involved w/ creating this great collection!!
I am eagerly awaiting Volume #3
Mahalo nui loa, a hui hou!
(Thank you very much, until next time!)

The Billboard Book of Number One Albums: The Inside Story Behind Pop Music's Blockbuster Records
Published in Paperback by Watson-Guptill Pubns (June, 1996)
Author: Craig Rosen
Average review score:

Great History Of Albums
Billboard provides the definitive charts for music and Craig Rosen has written the definitive book on the albums that reached number one on those charts. As the title suggests, Mr. Rosen tells the story of behind the making of every number one album. This book is kind of like a mini Behind The Music. You may or may not know the stories behind albums by major artists like The Beatles, The Stones, Springsteen and so on, but it's stories of the more obscure artists like Gerry Rafferty, Janis Ian, Pantera & Vangelis that are the most interesting. Not only do you get the album's story, you get a track listing, the date it reached number and weeks at number one. A great book and hopefully it will be updated with the most recent number one albums.

Very Essential Book
Not Now but back When Albums Were Special&they ROse Too The Top it was always Interesting Hearing The Stories&Creative Process that went into Making them Become the Hits they would Become.and this Book Does a Great Job Of That.hearing how your favorite Album got made or the changes going on with it.Very Essential.

A treasure trove of music information
This book is full of what you would expect from Billboard. This book will last you forever and you can pass it down from generation to generation as an example of music in the last 50 years. Please give us another edition!

Brook Trout and the Writing Life
Published in Hardcover by The Lyons Press (November, 1999)
Author: Craig Nova
Average review score:

Another fine addition to any library
Craig Nova has a fine, craftsman's approach to writing and his writing about fly fishing is excellent, too. This book stands on its own as literature.

Brevity is the soul of wit.
While this is a story on the role fly-fishing plays in the life of a man, you don't need to be a trout fisherman to enjoy it. The language is simplistic and I was amazed by the images he was able to create with such a style. Do not confuse this with "simple" writing because it is definitely not. It has layers of subtlety. Because it is so brief, I can see myself reading it again and again.

Beautifully written and wise.
Brook Trout and the Writing Life is a very finely-written book that is full of wisdom. I read it in one sitting--and I have never even held a flyrod in my hand. It's about fishing and writing, sure, but it's really about living. Nova has lived deeply and well, and it really shows here. This is a wonderful read.

C# Text Manipulation Handbook
Published in Paperback by Wrox Press Inc (November, 2002)
Authors: Francois Liger, Craig McQueen, and Paul Wilton
Average review score:

Finally a handy handbook
The first part of this book, which discusses what a string is, storage, and basic methods is primarily geared towards beginners. Veterans should be able to skim through the chapters. Both should take a look at the performance metrics run by the authors, as they offer valuable insight into how strings are manipulated.

The chapter on Internationalization is not only great for anyone writing global applications but also those just looking to offer more configurability to their applications.

The price of this book is worth the 3 chapters on Regular Expressions. The authors introduce each concept with an example, building up to complete examples such as Analyzing an SMTP Log File.

The Only Book that you want to read it on text's C#
I want to thank every author who working on the C# handbooks , Even the C#'s Guru programmers need this book , Whether you are a beginner or a pro you will need a complete understanding of the text manipulation in C#, and this is only in this book, I'm so sad that there's no more handbooks on C# like VB.NET :-(, The books cover all the aspects of text from A-Z (and that what i like in the book).
Thanks for all the authors
A Beginner

A Very Good Book!
For a book of just over 300 pages, this wrox book surely packs a punch! Firstly U'r biceps don't ripple when U carry it around and U'r pecs don't enlarge when U lie down to read it!

Apart from the physical beauties of the book, it also contains a lot inside. I must admit, being a slightly above average developer, I was rather sceptical about the benefits of reading it but the reviews of the VB.NET version of the book got good reviews so I gave it a try.

... How misplaced my initial scepticism was! Reading the book showed me how ignorant I was about strings; the way they're created, handled, manipulated and destroyed! This book shows that strings are more than "Anything between 2 quotes" and shows how to optimise U'r creation and manipulation of them.

The greatest asset in this book is the information on Regular Expressions. This "Rocket-science-like" topic was reduced to bed time reading ... and the following morning, the knowledge gained the night before didn't "leak" from my head! The regular expression chapters "Eased" the concepts behind the subject into my head and the last chapter on regular expression chapters showed how the mind of a Regular Expression 'Guru' works. It's not the normal "Cook-Book" that pastes preformed expressions for common problems but a step by step analysis of the "thought process" that goes into building complex regular expressions ... "it doesn't give you a fish ... but it teaches you how to catch a fish U'rself"

Chester Stubbs
Published in Hardcover by Dennis McMillan Pubns (March, 2001)
Author: Craig Miles Miller
Average review score:

Do Yourself a Favor. Read this Book!
I am a big fan of Craig Miles Miller's CHESTER STUBBS. In Chester he has created one of the most infuriating and lovable screw-ups of all time. Rude, clumsy, perhaps, even misbegotten, yet imbued with the true spirit from beginning to end, it doesn't matter, Chester's our man. Miller's style is deceptively simple, it just flows and flows, taking us from laughter, to heartbreak, to understanding, to, in fact, just about wherever you'd like a novel to take you. CHESTER STUBBS is a book that gave me a lot of hope and even more laughs. What more could a reader ask for?

Existential Redneck
Really an amazing book. To create such a character and such a "voice" AND have him delve into a real literary plot--this is the mark of a true writer. It may offend some, but it should delight most. Chester is one of the most original characters ever to appear on the page, and the tale of his reconnection to humanity and community is priceless. A great start for a career of writing!

A magnificent debut!
Craig Miles Miller writes like a hurricane -- his prose is forceful, turbulent, unpredictable, and at times deceptively calm. Miller reminds me of Larry Brown at his grittiest and of T.C. Boyle at his wittiest. After reading "Chester Stubbs" you'll walk away a little shaken and little wiser. Buy it today.

The Chinese Cookbook
Published in Paperback by Harperperennial Library (January, 1992)
Authors: Craig Claiborne and Virginia Lee
Average review score:

The Principia Mathematica of Chinese Cookbooks
This is an outstanding book. It far outstrips every other Chinese cookbook, including some very good ones by Irene Kuo, Ellen Schrecker, and others. I've been cooking out of it for 20 years. Every recipe I've tried (and I've tried most of them) turns out extraordinary food. Don't bother with the other books. Get this one, if you can find it! The publisher who let this go out of print should be strung up by his thumbs. The world deserves better! A billion stars!

A cookbook to be listed in one's will
I have the '72 edition as well, bought new then, and turned to it again just last night. I agree with mbrown's description of the recipes by category and don't wish to be redundent. What charmed me and Chinese shopkeepers was being able to point to the Chinese characters of various ingredients in the glossary. They were then able to quickly find just what I needed. The recipes are organized, easy to follow, and consistently tasty. I love Chinese cuisine and would be lost without it.

Great core chinese cookery book. Lots and lots of recipes.
I have the old version of this text, which was published in 72. I was browsing through cook books at the store and noticed that I had seen all the recipes before and then I realized it was the same book, only a newer cover. This has been my bible of chinese cooking. The book is very thorough and easy to understand. It has all the well known chinese recipes and a description of cooking techniques, such as the proper ways to carve and present meat. All recipes are categorized by their main ingredient (pork, chicken, beef, seafood, ect. . ) with a chapter on deserts. My only qualm with this book is it doesn't provide the chinese name for many recipes. This might be because they have been generalize for a western audience and the chinese names no longer apply, but I'd like to think that they are authentic originals from traditional dishes. If you only own one chinese cooking book, this is the one to have. Maybe that is why the title is "THE Chinese Cook Book".

Collectors Guide to Barbie Doll Vinyl Cases: Identification and Values
Published in Paperback by Collector Books (December, 1998)
Author: Connie Craig Kaplan
Average review score:

Fabulous!
This book is absolutely WONDERFUL! I purchased this book to use as a handbook referral guide when I was buying up vinyl Barbie cases on Ebay for my collection. It is absolutely the "bible" for Barbie vinyl cases: the pictures are invaluable, & the information given is gold. If you are a serious Barbie vinyl collector, you MUST have this book--I would highly recommend to any Barbie collector!

Collector's Guide to Barbie Doll Vinyl Cases
This book was extremely helpful in identifying all the vintage Barbie cases and the different variations. With the help of this book I was able to indentify and purchase several rare cases. I would recommend this book to all serious Barbie collectors! Many thanks to Connie Craig Kaplan for writing this book!

A Must-Have for Doll Case Collectors
Kaplan uses just the right blend of pictures and commentary to make this book an absolute "must-have" for the Barbie doll case collector. From the very first case all the way through the generic early '70's cases, Kaplan has it covered. There are mentions of late '60's vinyl lunchboxes, and she even displays coin purses, pencil pouches, and room/structures that double as cases. It doesn't appear as though she missed a thing in the genre. Kaplan has created a superb and interesting book with realistic prices that will not only entertain and help the reader reminisce; but, it will also have you running to your attic to see if you still have that old case of yours in the corner. Terrific!

Contractor's Guide to Quickbooks Pro 2002

Authors: Karen Mitchell, Craig Savage, and Jim Erwin
Average review score:

Miracle Guide to construction accounting
I am a systems manager, and know nothing about accounting. However I did know that my husband's construction firm was not using QuickBooks Pro properly. Amazon's helpful search engine suggested that I might like Contractor's Guide to Quickbooks Pro 2002. Amazon sure was right. This book quickly and simply explained how to set up a construction company's accounts and helped me turn two years worth of mis-input data into reliable reports. It also helped me develop a 10 page guide for the company's staff to use when entering invoices and payments.

The authors also have telephone support for reason prices although I have not yet needed to use them. They will also convert a Company's Quickbooks accounts into their suggested standard for a pretty reasonable fee.

I would highly recommend this book to small and medium sized construction companies. The book is wonderful, especially for non accounting types.

EASY TO FOLLOW FOR THE ACCOUNTING LAYMEN
I PURCHASED THIS BOOK WHEN ALL ELSE FAILED. FOR THE LIFE OF ME I COULD NOT FIGURE OUT HOW TO USE QUICKBOOKS FOR MY HUSBANDS CONSTRUCTION BUSINESS. QUICKBOOKS FOR THE CONTRACTOR GIVES YOU THE INFORMATION YOU NEED IN THE TERMS THAT YOU UNDERSTAND.I FOUND THAT THE HELP MENU IN QUICKBOOKS WAS BASED ON A MAIL ORDER COMPANY AND DID NOT GET THE QUESTIONS I NEEDED ANSWERED.I RECIEVED THE BOOK, READ IT COVER TO COVER AND USED IT STEP BY STEP FROM ESTIMATING TO TO PAYING JOB MATERIAL BILLS.
IT WAS SO EASY AND THE BEST PART IS THE BOOKKEEPING IS RIGHT!!
FINALLY!!
I HIGHLY REC0MMEND THIS BOOK TO ANY SELF EMPLOYED CARPENTER OR CONTRACTOR WHO IS HAVING TROUBLE WITH QUICKBOOKS.
ALSO IT COMES WITH A DISK THAT MAKES IT POSSIBLE TO IMPORT ESTIMATES FROM NATIONAL ESTIMATER. THERE IS EVEN A DEMO TO SHOW YOU HOW. GREAT BOOK HANDS DOWN
